Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at one time to gauge the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a number of means, including using upgrade components and upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged in order to increase their value.
Upgradeable items are available all over the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be created by players. Upgrade components are the main way to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and the majority require a certain upgrade level. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.
The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components required for the specific item. The price of an upgrade increases as the level and rarity of the item increases. However you can lower the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a seller or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded by a prefix upgrade like an insignia or a rune, and many can be upgraded using suffix upgrades. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, such as "Radiant" or "Minor vigor. The only exceptions are the noninscribable wands, shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which are not upgradeable with any mods in any way.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They animate in order to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in transmitting the message of a language barrier. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.
Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain amount. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the product you are creating it for.
The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it's not been applied to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from an item, you will need to save it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed, but you can recover the upgraded item by using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.
If you take an item off after adding a glyph the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also apply an inscription to your equipment to add a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This is helpful for players who take lots of damage from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes or as rare drops from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player a random affix that is generally better than the one they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a good way to reroll weapon stats that can be upgraded to increase damage or perks.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle these recycled items. This will alter the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, therefore higher-level items are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the traits of a weapon in an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolling is a great method to improve an item. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl is diminished by the number of that it took to reroll it to the final ilvl. This effect is most evident on Diadems and Rings, as they have no other options to increase the ilvl.
Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it with cash or food items which would allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend too much time. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to boost the value of an item upgrade. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the upgrade value of any stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading that increases the healing or damage of a specific stat. Finally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a higher upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
It is important to keep in mind that upgrades can be random. In most cases a better roll is determined by glyphs. However there are occasions when a greater or special roll can occur. Additionally, the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item and when you upgrade a unique or rare item to a unique type, it will have a chance to get an iLevel that is higher.
Upgrading items can be costly, particularly when you're upgrading an item of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. upgrade item of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the base iLevel as well as the number of upgrade levels. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.
If item upgrades , your upgraded item may reach the maximum level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect changes with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.
Based on the item's level of base and upgrade process, the iLevel for the upgraded item will change too. For example an item that has been upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an exceptional one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
